Taipei , Taiwan, Oct. 20, 2008 - Huper Laboratories (known as HuperLab ), a leading developer of intelligence video surveillance systems, and a technology innovator on computer vision, video/audio codec and streaming technology, today announced a small, low-power, intelligent IP encoder turn key solution with huperVision video analytics based on the Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series.
HuperLab integrated huperVision 4000 intelligent IP encoder on the Portwell NANO-8044 nano-ITX embedded board based on
the Intel® Atom™processor Z510 and Z530. The compact-sized IP encoder allows easy installation whereever surveillance is required, while the platform power consumption of less than 10 watts promotes greener environment.
The Intel Atom processor Z5xx series-based platform can support up to 4CH MPEG-4/H.264 real-time recording and streaming at 320x240 video resolution targeting mid-range DVR. The platform also can be used as a 1CH video detector with any video analytics features provided by huperVision 4000 series surveillance software suite. As an example, car parking bay operators can be alerted immediately if vehicles enter certain restricted areas, or go the wrong way at a single direction entrance using the software suite's virtual fence detection feature, while the flow counting feature can estimate the traffic flow at each entrance. This new IP encoder solution can also be used to gather business intelligence data in different sectors including retail business, building management, home automation and many more. Take retail industry as an example, shop owners or research companies are able to monitor shopper traffic and visitor flow using the data provided by huperVision 4000 series' people counting application.
“HuperLab appreciates the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series because the technology enables us to bring video intelligence into smaller, low-power yet powerful surveillance products at a reasonable cost within a short time-to-market.” said Albert Yang, President at Huper Laboratories Co., Ltd. “We are delighted to have made the right decision to use Intel® architecture processors in our intelligent surveillance solutions.”
”This IP encoder solution is a great example of the high performance and ultra low power offered by the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series enabling small form factor yet powerful surveillance products that were previously not addressed by the market,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Low Power Embedded Products Division, Intel.
